As a longtime fan of Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ships, I couldn't have been more excited when I heard about Utopia of the Seas setting sail from Port Canaveral, Florida. This ship offers the most incredible weekend cruises from Florida, and it's the first Oasis Class ship to launch with three- and four-day cruises to Perfect Day at CocoCay. This ship has so many cutting-edge things to do, like an immersive, virtual train dining experience and a new upgrade to the longest dry slide at sea.

From the stunning new ship's daytime thrills and pulsing nightlife to 40-plus ways to dine and drink throughout the ship's eight distinct neighborhoods, these are the top things to do on Utopia of the Seas.

1. Royal Railway Utopia Station

Combining adventure, food and technological wonders, Royal Railway – Utopia Station debuts on Utopia of the Seas as the first-ever simulated railway adventure at sea. This is an innovative dining experience you'll never forget. Your journey begins with a celebratory toast on the station platform where you can take in the views and mingle with other cruisers ahead of your meal. In keeping with an authentic train experience, the sound of a whistle lets you know when it's time to board one of two 24-seat cars adorned with accents from real railway cars. You'll be hard-pressed to believe you're not actually in motion as LED screens whisk you to faraway lands for a multisensory culinary adventure elevated by performers who bring a train-inspired story to life.

2. Indulge In The Newest Ways To Dine And Drink At Sea

Utopia of the Seas takes all the culinary highlights I've loved on the other Oasis Class ships and adds a few new restaurants and bars perfect for Caribbean weekend getaways. The Spare Tire is a super cute, new quick-bite food truck that is great pitstop for an easy poolside refuel. This complimentary eatery, one of many included in your cruise, features favorites like pulled pork sandwiches, cheeseburger flatbreads and daily rotating desserts. Plus, the much-loved Sprinkles, doling out delicious complimentary soft serve on the pool deck, gets an upgrade on Utopia of the Seas, featuring six flavors of ice cream and all-you-can-eat sprinkles. If you prefer to indulge in adult beverages, head to the fun-infused Pesky Parrot, the ship's new Caribbean-inspired bar. Here, you'll settle in for a relaxed island vibe as jovial bartenders craft fruit-based cocktails at this colorful bar.

3. Join In On The Cheer At The Best Bars On Utopia Of The Seas

I have spent many rousing nights onboard Oasis Ships singing along with piano players at Schooner Bar, tasting fine vintages at Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and enjoying a frothy pint at the English Pub. Rising Tide is likely the first bar you'll see when you enter the ship on the Royal Promenade level — and it's one of my favorites. This bar is a marvel to behold as it transports guests between decks. I love starting my evenings here on a slow ascent up to Central Park with a glass of bubbly in hand. From there, you can kick back at Trellis Bar and relax in the lush gardens under the stars.

4. Izumi Hibachi Delivers Flavor And Flair At Sea

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi is the place for fresh sushi and Japanese cuisine onboard most Royal Caribbean ships, and Utopia of the Seas welcomes a reimagined take in its new Central Park location. The refreshed specialty restaurant features a new multicourse private dining experience paired with sake cocktails. Accommodating demand, the eatery has added more teppanyaki tables (a total of six), where the chef puts on a show, preparing your food right before your eyes with plenty of sizzle and flare. There's also a new convenient pickup window for quick-serve sushi, Japanese-inspired street food and sweets.

5. Utopia Of The Seas Pool Deck Delivers Fun From Every Angle

Utopia of the Seas goes big with five pools and eight whirlpools that match every vibe, whether you're looking for an upbeat hangout or a chill enclave. When I cruise, I spend most of my days on the lively pool deck, reveling in the party atmosphere and basking in the warm Caribbean sun. For even more splashy thrills, Utopia of the Seas offers three waterslides that are a rip-roaring good time for adults and kids alike. And of course, the ship is home to the beloved FlowRider®—the ultimate balance challenge, as 30,000 gallons of water funnel into the perfect swell on this surf simulator.

6. Step Up To Days Filled With Adventure

Utopia of the Seas is brimming with things to do for action-packed days. The Ultimate Abyss comes to my mind as the most thrilling fun you can have onboard. It's the longest dry slide at sea and a towering achievement in heart-racing glee. This Oasis Class favorite — and the best dry slide I've ever experienced — comes decked out on Utopia of the Seas with new zoom booster rollers and transparent racing windows. Don't pass up the chance to fly nine decks above the Boardwalk on the zip line for a bird's eye view of this massive ship. I can't get enough of soaring the 82-foot-high expanse on the way to a soft landing on the other side of the deck.

Of all the things I never thought possible to exist at sea, Utopia of Seas stuns with an ice skating rink open for free skating during the day. Add to that two Rock Climbing Walls, laser tag and an escape room that challenges the greatest wits, and you've got days filled with endless exhilaration.

7. Take In First-Class Entertainment On Utopia Of The Seas

No matter the venue, Utopia of the Seas℠ is a hub of entertainment. The AquaTheater is unlike anything else in the world, flanked by two 30-foot dive towers and state-of-the-art technology that sends performers flying in every direction — even over the audience. Arrive early to ensure a good seat — this is a spectacle you don't want to miss. I like to prioritize the comedy sets at The Attic, as I love the intimate venue and always have a good laugh there. There's almost always a nighttime spectacle in the Royal Theater, whether it's a Broadway show or a custom musical production. The seats here are super comfortable, the sightlines are excellent, and I leave humming show tunes and feeling inspired every time.

8. Keep The Party Going On Your Caribbean Weekend Getaway

You've had an excellent dinner and seen a show or two, and now it's time to party it up! Utopia of the Seas kicks into high gear each night with an impressive array of nighttime events perfect for Caribbean weekend getaways. Evenings at sea are filled with everything from karaoke sing-offs at Spotlight Karaoke and high-octane cover bands at the Music Hall to intoxicating Latin beats at Boleros. The hopping bars and clubs carry on through the night — Sorrento's Pizza stays open extra late for the perfect after-hours bite, and 24-hour room service never fails to satisfy a craving for chicken wings and fries.
Now that you know the top things to do onboard, it's time to start planning your getaway on the ultimate weekend cruises from Florida on Utopia of the Seas.
