From Broadway-caliber theatrical productions and aerial aquatic shows to multimedia performances in the largest skating arena at sea, Icon of the Seas offers more entertainment than you could probably experience on one sailing. So, after you've had dinner and drinks, how do you narrow down the choices and decide how to spend your evening?

Read on for our top five recommendations for some of the best performances onboard this Icon Class cruise ship.

1. Delight In A Broadway-Style Extravaganza

Love Broadway-worthy musicals? You're in luck — and you're off to see the wizard, too. Head to the state-of-the-art Royal Theater and settle in for The Wizard of Oz, an Icon of the Seas signature stage show. This modern remake of Andrew Lloyd Webber's play includes over 600 costume elements, never-before-seen stage effects and an original score performed by a 16-piece orchestra.

2. See A Show At The Aquadome

Icon of the Seas features a stunning enclosed space that's home to the AquaDome, a one-of-a-kind performance venue that's a must-visit on family cruises. Here, you'll find shows that combine technological marvels with athletic artistry. Robotic arms convert into diving platforms for high divers or half pipes for skateboard performers, and a 55-foot waterfall changes shape during the performance.

Once you're onboard, there are two main shows you can see. Aqua Action! showcases gravity-defying high divers, aerialists, slackliners, synchronized swimmers and skateboarders in an adrenaline-fueled, tech-enhanced show. There's a 3D flying system throughout the space, robotic arms that turn into diving boards and a dazzling, immersive set.

The second show is perfect if you're looking for things to do with kids. Immerse yourself in the mythical world of Pirates vs. Mermaids and watch your little explorers' eyes light up when fairy tale characters come to life in a lighthearted storyline packed with punchlines. The pirates and mermaids challenge each other to see whose aquatic and athletic feats are the most impressive, and you can be the judge.

3. Enjoy Spectacles On Ice

For something completely different, head to Absolute Zero, the largest ice-skating arena at sea. Here, you can watch world-class athletes perform feats on ice with high-res digital projection screens that transport you to other worlds. Fans of triple axels, spins and flips will want to check out the icy exploration in two shows. Starburst: Elemental Beauty features an artistic interpretation of the periodic table of the elements. Once Upon a Time: The King's Royal Ball is a family-friendly performance where fairy tale icons take a nostalgic trip through revamped storylines that are sure to delight kids of all ages.

Bonus: If you're inspired by one of the evening performances and looking for things to do with the family on Icon of the Seas, you can bundle up, strap on a set of skates and zip around the ice for a few laps at your leisure during the day.

4. Laugh Out Loud

Looking for an event that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face? Head to The Attic on Deck 6 for some stand-up comedy. Inspired by Manhattan's intimate comedy clubs, this adults-only venue hosts a rotating roster of guest comedians who bring plenty of grown-up humor to the stage.

Here's a pro-tip — seating is limited at the comedy show, so you'll want to pre-book your tickets using My Royal Cruise. You can reserve ahead up to three months before your sailing.

5. Rock Out

Music lovers should plan to set aside time for a must-hear extravaganza called SHOWBAND! Live. Music. Now., which features the largest orchestra at sea. Expect a conductor leading string, woodwind and brass instruments, and percussionists in chart-toppers that might just have you dancing in your seat. These top-tier performers harness the energy of live music to create a cutting-edge sound and video sensory experience.

Looking for something a little more relaxed or romantic? One of the most underrated things to do on Icon of the Seas is to spend some time exploring the winding paths of Central Park. Here you can catch soulful classics at Lou's Jazz 'n Blues. Or look for Trellis Bar — one of the ship's many bars and lounges to choose from. Tucked away amid thousands of live plants, this charming spot pairs a thoughtful selection of handcrafted cocktails with live music under the stars.

After you've checked these exciting performances off your list, there's still plenty more to explore onboard. Spend your days in the state-of-the-art water parks — home to record-breaking waterslides and pools galore — and your evenings discovering intimate bars and lively nightlife venues. No matter what your preference, there's something for just about everyone.
